HEIC to JPG Converter
Make iPhone HEIC and Android HEIF photos easier to share. Convert multiple photos to JPG or PNG without uploading them.
IMG_2048.HEIC → IMG_2048.jpg · PNG output also available
Your photos will appear here as tiles.
Convert several at once, inspect a larger preview, and download individual files or one ZIP.Photos stay on your device. Output is an 8-bit image; camera/GPS metadata is not copied. Still images only—not Live Photo video or HDR gain maps.
How to use it
1. Add original photos
Drop .heic or .heif files into the blue area, or click it to select several. You can return to the same area to add more. If your phone has already exported a JPEG, use the regular Image Converter instead.
2. Choose JPG or PNG
JPG is the default for everyday photo sharing. Start with quality 90 and compare a detailed area after downloading. PNG stores the decoded pixels without another lossy compression step, but can be much larger. It does not restore detail already lost in the original HEIC.
3. Convert, inspect, download
Press Convert photos. Tiles show the converted preview, dimensions, and output size. Click a preview to enlarge it, download one photo, or collect successful results in a ZIP. A damaged file gets its own error while the queue continues.
Fix compatibility, not just the extension
Changing IMG_2048.HEIC to IMG_2048.jpg in a file manager does not make it a JPEG. This converter reads the HEIF container, decodes a still image, and writes an actual JPG or PNG. The output can then be used in an upload form that accepts that format.
iPhone and Android describe devices, not one universal image format. iPhone photos may arrive as HEIC or JPG depending on capture and transfer settings; some Android devices can also save HEIF. Check the actual filename before choosing a converter.
The result is an 8-bit browser-rendered still image. Live Photo video, depth information, HDR gain maps, camera metadata, and GPS tags are not carried into the download. If a container includes several top-level images, this version exports the first one and reports that on the tile.
| Next step | Choose | Check |
|---|---|---|
| Share or upload a photo | JPG, quality 90 as a starting point | Fine detail and upload size limit |
| Avoid another lossy encoding step | PNG | Larger download; 8-bit rendered output |
| Keep all original photo information | Keep the original HEIC | Conversion is not an archival replacement |
Check before sharing
- Open a downloaded photo, not just its thumbnail. Check orientation, color, and detail.
- Confirm output dimensions and the destination’s file size requirements.
- Keep originals separately. Downloads contain rendered pixels, not all source metadata or RAW/HDR information.
Questions
Can I convert iPhone photos on Windows or Android?
Yes, in a current browser that supports WebAssembly and OffscreenCanvas. The HEIC decoder is loaded by the page, so the browser does not need to display HEIC natively. Actual iPhone file variants can differ; an unsupported file reports an error.
Is HEIF the same as HEIC?
HEIF is a container family; HEIC commonly refers to HEVC-encoded images in it. This tool accepts .heic and .heif filenames but cannot promise every codec or feature that an HEIF container can hold.
Will PNG improve my photo quality?
No. PNG avoids additional lossy output compression, but it cannot recover information missing from the source. JPG is usually more practical for photos and upload limits.
Can I add 50 photos instead of only 20?
Yes, if the queue stays below 200 files and 512 MB of originals. Files are processed sequentially, not 50 decoded images held in memory at once. Each HEIC can be at most 50 MB; decoded images are limited to 60 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per side.
Are photos uploaded, and is location metadata kept?
No photos are uploaded. The decoder files load from this site and conversion happens on your device. Original EXIF and GPS metadata are not copied. Keep your originals separately if that information matters.
Why can a converted JPG still be rejected by a website?
The destination may also require a smaller file, particular dimensions, or a different aspect ratio. Conversion solves format compatibility, not all upload rules. Use Image Compressor or Image Resizer on the downloaded result when necessary.
