How to use Image Cropper

1. Add your photos

Drop JPG, PNG or WebP images into the left panel, or click it to choose files. Use the same area to add more later. Select a thumbnail to edit that photo; each photo remembers its own selection.

2. Choose the area

Move the selection box or drag its corner handles to resize it. Drag outside the box to draw a new selection. Use a ratio preset for a square avatar or portrait post, or enter exact pixel dimensions. Circular crops use a square selection and a transparent PNG output.

3. Save original-resolution pixels

Download the selected photo or all crops as a ZIP. PNG keeps transparency; JPG fills transparent areas with white. The screen preview is scaled to fit, but exports use the selected pixels from the original image.

Crop for composition, not just smaller dimensions

Cropping removes the edges of a picture. Resizing changes how many pixels represent the whole picture. For an avatar, first crop around the subject with a 1:1 selection, then use Image Resizer if the destination requires a smaller pixel size. A crop does not invent detail or enlarge a small face.

For a product detail, use the pixel controls to keep the same crop dimensions across photos, then adjust the location for each subject. For a portrait, leave space above the head instead of centering only on the face. The grid inside the selection helps place the subject away from the exact middle when the composition benefits from it.

A fixed ratio changes the shape of your selection without stretching the image. Choosing 4:5 does not automatically make a 1080 × 1350 file: the output dimensions are the width and height shown in the controls. If a destination needs padding rather than cutting off part of a photo, use Instagram Resizer instead.

Privacy and practical limits

Image files are decoded and edited locally on your device. This editor does not upload your photos or logo. Work is held only in this tab and is lost on refresh, so download finished images before leaving.

Add up to 200 files within 512 MB of original files. Each image must be no larger than 50 MB, 60 megapixels or 16,384 pixels on either side. Only the active full-resolution image is retained for preview; exports run sequentially. ZIP output is limited to 256 MB. These are safety limits, not a promise that every phone has enough memory for the largest file. Smaller batches are safer on mobile.

Questions

Does cropping reduce quality?

The selected region is exported at its original pixel dimensions without enlargement. PNG avoids additional lossy compression; JPG and WebP use the quality setting. Cropping cannot restore detail that was absent from the original.

Why is a circular crop still a square file?

Image files have rectangular dimensions. A circular PNG has transparent pixels outside the circle. A viewer with a white background may make that transparency look white; the PNG still stores an alpha channel.

Can I crop several photos differently?

Yes. Every photo keeps its own selection, ratio and circular-crop choice. Switch thumbnails to check each one before downloading all crops. Photos you have not adjusted keep the full original area.

Are phone photos and animated files supported?

Use JPG, PNG or WebP still images. Convert HEIC or DNG using the dedicated tools first. Animation, RAW development and metadata preservation are not part of this crop editor; animated input is treated as a still frame.
