What kind of background does this tool remove?
It is designed for solid or near-solid backgrounds. The tool samples the image corners, estimates the background color, and makes nearby colors transparent. It is not an AI subject-segmentation tool, so complex scenes and backgrounds that touch the subject may need a different workflow.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The image is read and processed by your browser with the Canvas API. There is no image upload endpoint in this tool, and the source file stays on your device.
What file types can I use?
PNG, JPG, JPEG, and WebP images can be loaded. The processed result is downloaded as a transparent PNG.
Why are some foreground pixels removed too?
Pixels similar to the sampled corner color are removed, so a foreground object with the same color as the background can also become transparent. Use an image with clear color separation for the most predictable result.
